We are a fast-growing, multinational team looking for a development team leader to work closely with our stakeholders to implement business strategy and ensure the smooth & efficient operation of our development team


ABOUT THE ROLE

As an experienced Development Team Leader, you will be required to manage, guide, and troubleshoot our development projects across predominantly PHP, Laravel, and vueJS based technologies. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating and leading activities across the full delivery lifecycle to ensure the successful delivery of new products and completion of projects. This will include working closely with our Project Managers, coordinating with our designers, product owners, and developers, as well as liaising with key project stakeholders as required. Your technical background and experience will ensure you can offer the support and guidance required being able to support and assist developers at code level.


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze and evaluate technical risks within the scope of a project and recommend the best approach to the building of a scalable analytics engine;
  • Contributing to technical solutions from design through to code level;
  • Own the entire development lifecycle, from new product creation to feature improvements and bug fixes delivering tasks on budget, on time, to requirements, and with high quality;
  • Provide assistance to any questions that the development team may have related to the tasks and give support when needed;
  • Oversee and manage the creation, update, and progress of tasks through our Jira Project Management Tool;
  • Establish the best Agile methodologies in adherence to industry standards;
  • Establish code review standards and ensure strict compliance with said standards;
  • Ensure that all submitted codes are reviewed and have passed unit testing before acceptance into our code repository;
  • Track team velocity and providing metrics for management;
  • Present technical information to a range of audiences including non-technical audiences;
  • Ensure that all features, process flows, system architecture, processes, and repeatable procedures are documented;
  • Take an active role in the hiring process of new developers and testers

OUR REQUIREMENTS

  • You have deep knowledge in PHP, Laravel, Javascript, vueJS, Redis, MySQL, and Elasticsearch
  • You have at least four (4) years of experience in leading a team of developers in a business setting
  • You are experienced in web crawling and other tools like headless Chrome or PhantomJS
  • You are familiar with Wordpress, CloudFlare, Zapier Integrations, and direct integration with platforms such as SalesForce, etc.
  • You have ample experience or knowledge with DevOps, Ansible, CI/CD, and Site Reliability Engineering;
  • You have acute problem solving skills and a knack for out-of-the-box thinking. You will be collaborating with us on new ideas and solving issues that may have us stuck;
  • You are able to communicate thoughts and ideas in a technical manner;
  • You are able to thrive under pressure, meet deadlines, and be transparent with deadline extensions when needed;
  • You are fluent in written and verbal English;
  • Your attention to detail is out of this world;

This is a full-time engagement for an initial period of 6 months, with potential for extension. We are looking for individual developers and are not open to working with agencies.
